Makkala Santhe 2026 – Celebrating Curiosity, Creativity and STEM LearningOn Sunday, 8th February, DSF hosted Makkala Santhe, a lively and inspiring fun science fair that marked the culmination of a year long STEP (School Transformation and Engagement programme) in Rannebennur, Haveri.Now in its third consecutive year, the programme has been a focused effort across 10 Government Schools, delivered in partnership with SVP India (Bangalore Chapter)This year, the STEP initiative deepened its emphasis on experiential STEM learning. Students engaged in hands on sessions, formed active STEM Clubs, and many emerged as confident STEM Champions through sustained mentoring and practice.Makkala Santhe brought together nearly 500 students from schools and surrounding communities, all eager to showcase and enhance their understanding of science through creative projects in various STEM subjects. Santhe was a vibrant community event, festival of science, art, and play with innovative student models and award winning projects to immersive experiences such as 3D movie screenings and hologram displays. The event was hosted at RTES College, Rannebennur, and attended by guests from the Education Department, along with parents, teachers, college faculty and students.
